Detection of Earthquakes through a STratospheric Infrasound studY

DESTINY, a BEXUS 28 Balloon Experiment

In this project, we mounted barometric sensors on a stratospheric balloon provided by the Swedish National Space Agency as part of the REXUS/BEXUS programme. to detect low-frequency seismic waves propagating through the stratosphere. By measuring pressure variations at high altitudes, we aimed to explore the feasibility of using atmospheric sensing as a tool for remote seismic monitoring. This study served as a proof of concept for detecting seismic activity from the stratosphere, with potential applications for planetary exploration, particularly in studying the seismic activity of Venus, where traditional ground-based seismology is not feasible.

Optimal Trajectory for Nanosatellite Collision Avoidance

Centre Spatial de l'École polytechnique

This project focused on computing the optimal trajectory of a nanosatellite in low Earth orbit to avoid collisions using electric propulsion. Using optimization techniques and orbital mechanics, the goal was to determine efficient and feasible maneuvers that minimize fuel consumption while ensuring safe separation from potential collision threats. This work is particularly relevant for autonomous space traffic management and enhancing the sustainability of satellite constellations.

Drone Swarm Deployment using Reinforcement Learning

This project aimed to develop and optimize control strategies for deploying a swarm of drones using reinforcement learning techniques. Using deep reinforcement learning algorithms, the drones learned to navigate and coordinate autonomously in dynamic environments. The deployment and testing were conducted within the ROS Gazebo simulation framework, enabling realistic physics-based simulations of multi-agent aerial robotics.
